ABOUT THE ARTIST

Guy Hivroni

Guy Hivroni is a ceramic sculptor whose practice centers on the paradox of presence and absence. He depicts garments stripped of their wearers — shirts, dresses, coats — objects that carry the weight of the bodies that once inhabited them.

His current series, Wedding Dresses of No Body (2025–2026), stages the wedding dress as a ceramic monument: a garment that is both promise and record, loaded with ceremony, expectation, and the irreversible fact of time. Cast in high-fired clay, each piece preserves the volume, drape, and texture of fabric while remaining absolutely still.

Born in Israel, Hivroni studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. He works between intimate scale and monumental presence, using traditional wheel-throwing and hand-construction to give permanence to things that are, by nature, temporary.
